how do i connect my laptop to my tv monitor?
ive tried everything, pressing FN with all the F numbers at the top, ive tried opening and closing the laptop screen to see if it notices the cable plugged in, and i keep switching the "source" on the tv to s video or PC and nothing is appearing on the tv monitor, my laptop screen is almost completely cracked, so i cant see onto it properly, what else can i do to make it connect to the tv monitor instead ?

I want to connect my laptop to my TV without any wires. I understand you can get wireless routers that will connect to your TV via HDMI. However, it appears they all revolve around their own in-box software for navigating specific web content, like Netflix, or Hulu, or Pandora, etc. What I'd like to know how to do, is connect to my TV wirelessly, and simply replicate what's on my PC onto my TV. Like if I were to connect my PC to my TV using an HDMI cable, or a VGA cable, or a DVI cable, etc. Alternatively, if that's not possible, is there any way to hack one of those boxes so that you can use it in this fashion?
