Buying from entrusted party can inflict a financial loss whether at the first the price is lower. After you buy the memory, further step is installing the device into your Powerbook RAM. For a part of people it is rather complicated. So here are the steps.
First, turn off and unplug the power from your Powerbook then flip your notebook so you can see the backside. Second, take out its battery and the screw that are holding the cover of the memory slot using screwdriver to take-off the cover. And third, install the memory module. One thing you should make sure is that the gold pins are facing down at a 30º angle (It’s should be positioned correctly for the pins, line up the groves on the module with the groves on the slot). And forth, for the last, push the memory module down until the clips snap onto the module. When you turn-on your Powerbook again, you can see that the memory is increased.
RAM can be so important because Application is usually being loaded to your Powerbook RAM, as are files you running on. And when you use the entire available RAM, the system stored the information that supposed to be stored in RAM into your hard disk. When it happens, it seems a serious waiting (not always being showed by hard drive-grinding noise). Then it caused the system run slower because the system using hard disk to store information (RAM can be 100,000 faster than hard disk). So make it sure your Powerbook RAM upgrade supported the size of your application. It can be sure that you will get upset if your applications run slower than ever.
